The 11-party unity led by Jamaat-e-Islami has announced a long march program from Dhaka to Chittagong on September 5. The program has been announced with 11-point demands including solving the energy, gas and electricity crisis, controlling the prices of essential commodities, implementing the referendum verdict, eliminating discrimination and prosecuting various crimes.
\nToday, Thursday (August 6), Jamaat Ameer and Opposition Leader Dr. Shafiqur Rahman announced the program as the chief guest at an 11-party unity program at Muktangan in the capital. Announcing the program of the long march, he said that the long march will be held from Dhaka to Chittagong on September 5. If any obstacle is created in this program to realize the demands of the people, it will reach its destination with double strength.
\nThe Jamaat Ameer said that a huge rally will be held from Dhaka to Rangpur on September 19, from Dhaka to Khulna-Jessore-Kushtia on October 10, from Dhaka to Sylhet on October 24 and in Dhaka on November 14. At the meeting, National Citizens Party (NCP) convener and opposition whip Nahid Islam said that the government will not be able to remain in power even if the price of gas increases by one taka.
\nHe alleged that the government is trying to increase the price by creating an artificial gas crisis and is breaking one promise after another made to the people. Nahid Islam said, today we have come to warn. This government will not be able to continue even if the price of gas increases by one taka. You promised not to increase the price of electricity, but you have increased the price of gas. You also promised to create employment and control the price increase of goods, but now the price of daily necessities is increasing further. This strategy will not work, profiteering will not be tolerated in Bangladesh.
