Chittagong Metropolitan JASAS member secretary and lyricist Mamunur Rashid Shipon has won special recognition in the original patriotic song competition titled \u2018Tomar Gane Jagbe Julai\u2019 organized by the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
\nA song written by him was nominated in this competition, organized to highlight the memory of the July 2024 mass uprising, the sacrifice of the martyrs, the heroic story and the dream of a new Bangladesh.
\nMamunur Rashid Shipon was presented with a cash prize of Tk 20,000, a crest and a certificate of honor at the \u2018Concert for Democracy\u2019 program held at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.
\nCultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury, MP, was the chief guest at the program.
\nThe special guests were State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Newaz Mahmud Khayyam, MP and Policy and Strategy Advisor to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman, Secretary to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs Kaniz Maula,
\nDirector General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Sheikh Rezauddin Ahmed.
\nThe song, written about Chhatra Dal leader Wasim, was composed by Syed Zia Uddin, Joint Convener of Chittagong Metropolitan JASAS.
\nThe song was sung by Syed Zia Uddin, SB Sumi, Nikhilesh Barua, Didarul Alam, Maksuda Brishti and Ankita Acharya.
\nAfter receiving the award, Mamunur Rashid Shipon expressed his sincere gratitude to Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the composers, artists, co-artists and well-wishers associated with the song.
