\nHe raised this question at a discussion meeting organized by the Dhaka Metropolitan South Branch of Jamaat-e-Islami at the Institution of Diploma Engineers in the capital on Thursday (July 16) morning on the occasion of July Martyrs’ Day.
\nAddressing the ruling party BNP, he urged them not to do injustice with the power of the majority. He swore, ‘I will give my life, but I will not let ’24’ disappear.’ Although everyone acknowledges the achievements of 24, many still cling to the memories of the past, why so much inferiority? If not for 24, Tarique Rahman would not have become the Prime Minister and I could not have been the Leader of the Opposition. How can a nation that is backward with the past move forward? We have always said, let’s move forward. Let’s implement the promise with which 24 was held.
\nDr. Shafiqur Rahman said, some teachers have been made without salary, our constitution is taught. Which constitution has a constitution amendment committee? The fight for the verdict of the referendum will never go in vain. If not in parliament, the solution will be on the streets. Claiming that Jamaat is the only party that India dislikes, he said, they (India) show us the red card. Jamaat does not care about their red card.
