The United States has launched a missile attack on a wheat warehouse in Iran’s Khuzestan province. Tehran claims the warehouse was damaged, but there have been no reports of casualties so far. The deputy governor of Khuzestan province made the announcement in an interview with the semi-official Fars News Agency.
\nHe said the US-launched missile hit the wheat warehouse on Tuesday night. Emergency services and local administration members arrived at the scene after the attack and brought the situation under control. The deputy governor said initial reports indicate only structural damage. There were no casualties. A full assessment of the damage is still being prepared.
\nIn addition to military installations, food and civilian infrastructure have been reported to have been damaged in the recent clashes. The claim of an attack on a wheat warehouse has added to those concerns. However, there was no immediate official comment from the United States on Iran’s claim.
