Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has sent back 2 people who tried to infiltrate Bangladesh from India through the Tawakucha border in Jhenaigati upazila of Sherpur. Indian human traffickers tried to send the two people to Bangladesh in the border area adjacent to the Tawakucha BGB camp on Monday (June 29) morning.
\nThe BGB said that at 9:20 am, while they were entering Bangladesh through the 1097th Main Pillar (MP) at the Sherpur border, patrolling members led by Havildar Mustafizur Rahman, Camp Commander of the Tawakucha camp of the Mymensingh Battalion (39 BGB) arrested the two people. They were later sent back to India.
\nAccording to BGB sources, the identities of the two people who tried to infiltrate to India through human traffickers could not be confirmed. During initial interrogation, they claimed to be residents of Jessore district but could not provide any specific information. Local residents claim that two people were staying near the barbed wire fence since Sunday evening (June 28). They entered Bangladesh around 9 am. Later, the BGB sent them back after crossing the border. They are currently in no-man’s land near the pillar. Camp Commander Habildar Mustafizur Rahman, in charge of the Tawakucha BGB camp, said, “This morning, two people were found in the border area. We have sent them to the Indian border. Currently, we have come to know that they are staying near pillar number 1097. We are on the highest alert to prevent all types of infiltration, including any kind of human trafficking, at the border.” Meanwhile, locals have expressed concern over such attempts to infiltrate through human trafficking in the border area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
