Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed to have successfully attacked and destroyed eight US military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait. Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB reported this information, citing Qatar-based news outlet Al Jazeera.
\nThe report also said that ballistic missiles and drones were used in the attack. The IRGC claimed that the operation was carried out in response to recent US attacks on Iranian facilities in Sirik and Qeshm.
\nEarlier on Saturday, the US Central Command (Centcom) said that US forces targeted Iran’s military surveillance infrastructure, communications systems, air defense installations, drone storage and mine-laying capabilities at sea in response to previous Iranian attacks on commercial ships.
\nFollowing the US attack, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy issued a new stern warning. They said, \u201cUS bases in the Middle East will suffer greatly.\u201d In a statement, the IRGC Navy said that the US attack on the city of Sirik in no way weakened Iran\u2019s control over the Strait of Hormuz.
\nThe statement said, \u201cOur shelling of the ships violating the border is a clear message to other ships \u2013 sail safely.\u201d It added, \u201cThe case of US military bases in the region is different. They will suffer greatly in the coming days.\u201d
