Public opinion in Israel is largely negative about the post-war situation and the diplomatic settlement with the United States. A majority of Israelis surveyed in a recent poll believe that Iran is the strategic winner in the conflict. According to the survey, conducted by the Agam Institute in collaboration with the Hebrew University, 92.1% of respondents believe that Iran is in an advantageous position as a result of the war and the subsequent agreement.
\nAt the same time, 82.9% believe that the military operation has weakened Israel’s long-term security, and 86% of respondents expressed a negative opinion about the overall outcome of the war. The survey also found that 72.5% do not believe Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s claim that Israel achieved significant success and averted an existential crisis by attacking Iran.
\nIn addition, 87.8 percent of respondents believe that Israel has either failed to achieve its goals or has been “partially successful.” Public opinion is also divided and critical of Netanyahu’s leadership. According to the survey, 56.4 percent of respondents believe that his role in conducting the military campaign has been weak or ineffective.
\nOn the other hand, there are also different opinions about the future direction of the country’s overall security policy. The survey found that 48.2 percent of Israelis support another major military operation against Hezbollah, even if it risks a potential diplomatic clash with US President Donald Trump.
\nThe survey was conducted between June 17 and 20. A total of 3,644 Israelis aged 17 and older participated. According to the researchers, the survey was based on a weighted sample, with a maximum margin of error of 2.2 percent and a confidence level of 99 percent.<\/p>\n
