Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said that the recruitment process for government vacancies will start soon. The Prime Minister gave this information in response to a supplementary question regarding recruitment for government vacancies by BNP MP from Comilla-9 constituency Abul Kalam during the Question and Answer Session in the Jatiya Sangsad on Wednesday (June 10) afternoon.
\nHe said, “I would like to inform this great parliament that there are various vacancies in different places of the government, which are important to make them more dynamic and to deliver services to the people of the country more easily and conveniently… The government is reviewing the matter with great importance. Insha Allah, we will start the recruitment process for these posts (vacancies) as soon as possible.”
\nIn the absence of BNP MP from Pabna-5 constituency Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Pabna-2 constituency MP AKM Selim Reza Habib raised his starred question. In response, the Prime Minister said that the government has decided to recruit 5 lakh government employees. Of these, the process of appointing 2,879 people to vacant posts in the Ministry of Public Administration and its subordinate departments and organizations is ongoing.
\nThe parliament session began at 3 pm on Thursday under the chairmanship of Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed. The first 30 minutes of the session was the question period scheduled for the Prime Minister. Five starred questions were scheduled for the Prime Minister. In these 30 minutes, the Prime Minister answered three starred questions and various MPs answered supplementary questions related to them.
\nIn response to a supplementary question from BNP MP from Madaripur-2 constituency Anisur Rahman Talukder Dulu, the Prime Minister said, ‘A few days ago, we sat in a meeting of the committee we formed on how this parliament session will be conducted under your leadership. Opposition leaders were also present there.\u2019 He mentioned one thing that in some cases, opposition leaders may not have received some support from the government… which was given by the government before Eid, many of them received it, many did not… I immediately instructed both the local government, rural development minister and state minister as soon as I left the meeting that if any opposition MP has not received it, then immediate action must be taken.\u2019
\nHe further said, \u2018Through this instruction, I want to convey that the current government believes in the equitable development of the country and just as the government MPs will work for the development of the area, we will also get full support from the government.
