Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is currently in a secret location under tight security. His communication with the outside world is very limited. A report published on Sunday (May 24) quoted US intelligence sources as saying that he has to rely on a complex messaging system to reach Iran’s Supreme Leader.
\nAccording to US officials familiar with the matter, Iranian officials responsible for communicating with US President Donald Trump’s administration are also unable to communicate easily within their own government system. This is why the talks are being delayed. The report also said that when the US sends a proposal, the message takes a long time to reach the Supreme Leader and get a response from him.
