After reducing the price three times in a row, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has decided to increase the price of gold in the country’s market. This time, the organization has increased the price of one bhori of 22-carat gold by Tk 2,158 and set its price at Tk 2,38,121. BAJUS announced this information in a notification on Thursday (May 21) morning. The new price will be effective from 10 am today.
\nThe notification said that the price of acid gold (pure gold) has increased in the local market. As a result, the new price of gold has been set considering the overall situation. According to the new price, the price of one bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold in the country’s market will be Tk 2,38,121. In addition, the price of one bhori of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 2,27,331, one bhori of 18-carat gold at Tk 1,94,847 and the price of one bhori of gold in the traditional method has been set at Tk 1,58,689.
\nEarlier, BAJUS last adjusted the price of gold in the domestic market this morning. At that time, the organization had reduced the price of a 22-carat gold bhari by 2,158 taka per bhari to 2,35,963 taka.
\nIn addition, the price of 21-carat gold bhari was fixed at 2,25,232 taka, 18-carat gold bhari at 1,93,039 taka and the price of gold in the traditional method was fixed at 1,57,231 taka. Which was effective from 10 am that day. In this context, so far this year, the price of gold has been adjusted 67 times in the domestic market. Where the price has been increased 36 times; reduced 31 times. And in 2025, the price of gold has been adjusted a total of 93 times in the domestic market; where the price has been increased 64 times and reduced 29 times.
\nAlthough the price of gold has been increased, the price of silver in the domestic market has remained unchanged. Currently, a 22-carat silver bhari is being sold for 5,657 taka. In addition, 21 carats are being sold at Tk 5,365 per bhori, 18 carats at Tk 4,607 per bhori and traditional silver at Tk 3,441 per bhori.
\nSo far this year, the price of silver has been adjusted 39 times in the domestic market. Where the price has been increased 21 times; the remaining 18 times have been reduced. And in 2025, the price of silver in the domestic market was adjusted a total of 13 times.
