The High Court did not hear the supplementary application of a pending writ petition filed by a person named Mosharraf Hossain demanding postponement of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) directors’ committee elections. However, the court has ordered the application to be registered. As a result, the lawyers said that there is no obstacle in organizing the BCB elections on June 7.
\nA High Court bench comprising Justice Razik Al Jalil and Justice Debashis Roy gave this order on Sunday (May 17). Senior lawyer Mohsin Rashid heard the application in the court. Attorney General Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal was present on behalf of the state. Barrister Mahim M Rahman was present on behalf of the BCB.
\nLater, BCB lawyer Barrister Mahim M Rahman said that the court has ordered the registration of the supplementary application filed along with the writ petition filed by a person named Mosharraf Hossain demanding postponement of the BCB elections. The court said that in view of this application, we will not interfere in the BCB elections in any way. He further said that the court issued this rule after a person named Mohammad Mosharraf filed a writ petition in March challenging a section of the BCB constitution.
\nA supplementary petition was filed today to that writ petition, seeking postponement of the BCB elections scheduled for June 7. After hearing that petition, the court decided not to interfere in the BCB elections through this petition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
