A fire broke out in an air-conditioned coach of the Delhi-bound Rajdhani Express in Rajasthan, India. According to NDTV, the B-1 coach of the train caught fire while it was moving near Vikramgarh Alot station in Kota at around 5:45 am on Sunday (May 17). However, no casualties were reported in the incident.
\nThere were 68 passengers in the damaged coach at the time of the incident. Everyone was quickly evacuated to a safe place and shifted to another coach. The burnt coach was then separated from the rest of the train and its power supply was disconnected. A video shows black smoke coming out of the coach due to the fire and some nearby trees were also on fire.
\nThe officials concerned said that the rescued passengers will be taken to Kota in the remaining coaches. From there, a new coach will be added and the journey will resume. This Rajdhani Express number 12431 left Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala last Friday. The train was scheduled to reach Nizamuddin station in Delhi at 12:30 pm.
