Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said that no one is satisfied with the existing uniform of the police and police forces across the country. The uniform is actually not suitable. That is why we have considered the matter in light of their request. He said this at a briefing on various recent issues including the Rohingya at the Secretariat on Monday (May 4) afternoon.
\nThe Home Minister said that we have considered the issue of determining an acceptable traditional dress. As before, there will be a shirt on the upper part, which was previously determined for the entire country including the metro and has been maintained. However, in the case of pants or pajamas, khaki-colored clothing has been determined. After detailed discussions with the concerned, it has been finalized as an acceptable dress.
\nHe also said that we are taking measures to arrest those involved in drugs, drug trade and smuggling and even those involved in large-scale drug trafficking through the border or the interior of the country before we catch drug users.
\nRegarding top terrorists, the Home Minister said, “I have noticed that after August 5, many top terrorists and many accused have come out of jail. They have come out on bail, it is a matter for the court. How and why the court granted bail is a matter for the court, it is not our concern. Whether they are top terrorists or not, the police will investigate and take action against them.”
\nClaiming that this session was the most successful in history, he further said, “The first session of this democratically elected Parliament after 17 years was very lively and dynamic. The maximum number of laws have been enacted in this Parliament and constructive debates have been held in a cordial atmosphere. The government and the opposition have reached consensus on various national issues and worked together. There will be differences of opinion in a democracy, but those differences are part of the parliamentary debate,” the Home Minister said.
\nResponding to a question about the different statements made by the Home Minister and the Prime Minister’s Information Advisor on the issue of militancy, the Home Minister said, “You have printed the statement that I have given.
