Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir said that the price of bottled soybean oil will be increased by Tk 4 per liter to Tk 199. Along with this, the price of open soybean oil will also be increased by Tk 4 to Tk 179 per liter. The Commerce Minister announced the price hike after a meeting on the review of edible oil prices at the Secretariat on Wednesday (April 29) afternoon. The new price will be effective from today.
\nAt that time, the Commerce Minister said that this price has been adjusted by taking into account the price of oil at the source level and the additional cost of the import process. However, although partial adjustments were made according to the needs of importers and refineries, it was not possible to meet the entire demand. Khandaker Abdul Muktadir also said that this price will be adjusted again if the price of edible oil at the source level decreases.
