Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibof said that there has been some progress in ongoing talks with the US to end the war, but they are still far from a final agreement. \u201cWe are not even close to the final stage of the talks,\u201d he said in a speech on national television.
\nHe added, \u201cThere has been some progress in the talks, but there are still many gaps and some fundamental issues remain unresolved.\u201d Ghalibof said, \u201cThe US has not achieved its goals and Iran still maintains control over the vital sea route, the Strait of Hormuz.\u201d
\n\u201cIf we have accepted the ceasefire, it is only because they have accepted our conditions,\u201d the Iranian speaker said. \u201cThe enemy wanted to impose their own conditions on them. Therefore, it is important to establish their rights, and in this case, negotiations are part of the struggle.\u201d<\/p>\n
