The court has sent arms dealer Md. Majidul Haque Helal, who was arrested in the murder case of Inqilab Manch spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, on a three-day remand. Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam ordered the remand after a hearing on Wednesday (April 15). The investigating officer of the case and Assistant Superintendent of Police of CID Abdul Qadir Bhuiyan presented the accused in the court and applied for a seven-day remand.
\nThe remand application states that the accused is the owner of a weapons shop. The license of his shop was renewed until December 31, 2014. Later, he did not renew it. He bought this weapon from Islam Uddin Ahmed and Sons’ shop without renewing the license. In such a situation, it is necessary to interrogate Md. Majidul Haque Helal to collect information about how the weapon came into the hands of the accused. The name and address of the accused are being verified. A seven-day police remand is required for intensive interrogation in police custody in order to uncover the main mystery of the case and conduct a fair investigation.
\nState lawyer Harun Or Rashid, while applying for remand, said, “This is a much-discussed incident and case. Discussions and movements are still going on in Bangladesh regarding his death. The accused Hamidul Haque is the owner of Arms and Co. A seven-day remand has been requested to find out how this weapon reached Faisal Karim in the Hadi murder case. I pray for the maximum remand to be granted.”
\nHelal did not have a lawyer. When the court asked him to say something, Helal said, “No.” The court later ordered his three-day remand. On April 14, the police arrested him from the Chawkbazar police station area of \u200b\u200bChittagong.
\nThe case alleges that after the coup, Sharif Osman Hadi formed a political-cultural platform called ‘Inqilab Manch’ and served as its spokesperson. On December 12, at 2:20 pm, miscreants on a motorcycle shot Hadi and fled in the Box Culvert Road area of \u200b\u200bPaltan Model Police Station. He was seriously injured after being shot in the head and below the right ear. He was later treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later at Evercare Hospital. When his condition deteriorated, Osman Hadi was airlifted to Singapore for better treatment on December 15. A week later, on December 18, he died while undergoing treatment. In this incident, Inquilab Manch member editor Abdullah Al Jaber filed an attempt-to-murder case with Paltan Police Station on December 14. Later, it was converted into a murder case. After the investigation, the Detective Branch Police (DB) filed a charge sheet against 17 people, including former ward councilors Taijul Islam Chowdhury Bappi and Faisal Karim Masud, on January 6. However, expressing dissatisfaction with the charge sheet filed by the DB police, Inquilab Manch member editor Abdullah Al Jaber filed an objection on January 15.
