Joint Secretary of the Department of Fuel, Monir Hossain Chowdhury, said that there will be no fuel problem in the next 2 months. He said that the country has 1 lakh 1 thousand 385 metric tons of diesel, 31 thousand 821 metric tons of octane, 18 thousand 211 metric tons of petrol and 77 thousand 546 metric tons of jet fuel in stock.
\nHe gave this information at a briefing on fuel at the Secretariat on Wednesday (April 15) afternoon. A spokesperson for the Department of Fuel said that fuel prices are adjusted every month. It was done in April as well. The prices will be determined considering the situation next month.
\nHe also said that excessive crowding at petrol pumps outside Dhaka is not a problem. The problem is seen in Dhaka itself. But there is no need to panic and buy. The same amount of oil is being given this year as was given at this time last year at petrol pumps. The supply is not being reduced in any way. There should be no problem in this.
\nThe spokesperson of the Energy Department said that there is no shortage of diesel in the industrial plants. He said that there is no obstacle in this regard. Fuel is being supplied as per the list as per the demand. Privately, 1.4 million metric tons of fuel has been approved for import.
\nStating that the government could not bring crude oil in March and April, he added that crude oil will come from Saudi Arabia through a different route in early April or May. He added that the Eastern Refinery refines 1.5 million metric tons of fuel annually, which is one-fifth of the total fuel demand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
