Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar said, try to understand the language of the people. Do not create a new crisis in the country by rejecting the referendum verdict of five crore people. Learn from history, otherwise those who chose the path of autocratic and fascist rule in the past will have to suffer the same consequences.
\nGolam Parwar said these things at a seminar organized at the Diploma Engineers Institute (IEDB) auditorium in the capital today, Monday (April 13). The seminar titled ‘Government against the referendum verdict: A country in crisis’ was organized at the initiative of the 11-party unity.
\nMia Golam Parwar said, an attempt is being made to silence the voices of all members of parliament, including the opposition leader and the chief whip, in the parliament. This is an attempt to suppress it very verbally. You are pleading for the constitution, but remember that not only you read the constitution, we also understand it. Addressing the Law Minister and Chief Whip, Golam Parwar said, “If you voted for the referendum, then why are you calling it illegal now? Denying your vote means ignoring your identity. Accept the truth and implement it by accepting the legitimacy of the Reform Council.” Criticizing the current economic situation of the country, the Jamaat leader said, “You have taken a loan of Tk 42,000 crore from the bank in just one and a half months of coming to power. Remittances are decreasing, prices of daily necessities are increasing and the energy crisis in the country is becoming more pronounced. Instead of solving this crisis, you are leaning towards fascist rule.” The seminar, held under the chairmanship of Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis Amir Maulana Mamunul Haque, was presided over by the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
