Wheat import from India has resumed in Bangladesh through Hili land port in Dinajpur after four years. This activity resumed today, Sunday (April 12) with the import of a total of 116 tons of wheat in 3 trucks after the ban was lifted. M\/s Mifa International, the importer of the land port, imported this wheat from India. Traders and workers of the port have been relieved as import activities have resumed after a long time.
\nMeanwhile, due to the increase in wheat prices in the domestic market, the Indian government announced a ban on wheat exports on May 13, 2022. As a result, wheat import from India through various land ports of the country, including Hili land port, has completely stopped.
