Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal Aminul Islam said that the disappearance ordinance law was unnecessary. He said that the crime covered by the disappearance ordinance was stipulated in the tribunal law itself. I did not think that there was a need to form another law and tribunal to bring the allegations of disappearance under this law. In other words, disappearance is possible under the tribunal law.
\nHe said this in response to a question from journalists at a press conference in his office on Tuesday (April 7). The chief prosecutor said that if the disappearance ordinance has been repealed and merged with the tribunal law, then I express my gratitude to the law minister and members of parliament. Because we think that this disappearance ordinance was an unnecessary law.
\nHe said that merging it with the tribunal law has been a good step. The chief prosecutor also thinks that it is right and proper.
\nMeanwhile, the \u2018International Crimes Tribunal (Amendment) Bill 2026\u2019 was passed in the National Parliament today to pave the way for the trial of enforced disappearances in the International Crimes Tribunal. Through this amendment, enforced disappearance has been defined as a \u2018crime against humanity\u2019. When Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md.
