Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has said that the Strait of Hormuz will never return to its former state, especially for the US and Israel. In a statement released on social media late Sunday (April 5), the IRGC said that the era of foreign domination of this important international waterway is now definitely over.
\nIt said that they are in the final stages of military preparations to implement what Iranian officials called a ‘new system’ for the Persian Gulf. The comments come as a draft law has been introduced in Iran’s parliament, which proposes imposing transit fees for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, a complete ban on US and Israeli ships, and limiting access to countries that have imposed sanctions on Tehran.
\nIranian state media reported that the proposal also includes the obligation to pay transit fees in Iran’s own currency.
