Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said his country has reached an agreement with Iran to allow safe passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. He made the announcement at a news conference in Bangkok on Saturday (March 28). The move comes as the country seeks to secure its energy supply amid recent regional tensions, AFP news agency reported.
\n“A deal has been reached to allow Thai oil tankers to safely pass through the Strait of Hormuz,” the prime minister said. He added that the deal is expected to ease concerns about fuel imports. The Strait of Hormuz, known as one of the world’s most important energy transport routes, is a major transit route for huge volumes of oil.
