The body of Ahmed Ali, an expatriate Bangladeshi who was killed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, amid the Iran-Israel conflict, has arrived in Bangladesh. The plane carrying his body landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Emirates Airlines flight EK-582 at 8:20 am today, Monday (March 9).
\nState Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Nurul Haque Noor and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid were present on behalf of the government, along with the relatives of the deceased. Later, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs told reporters, “The importance of Bangladeshi citizens is very important to the government. The government will stand by Ali Ahmed’s family. Necessary assistance will be provided.”
\nState Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Nurul Haque Noor said that 14 more people were injured in the Iran-Israel war; they have been provided with the highest medical care. He requested expatriates to avoid risky areas in the Middle East.
\nIt is learnt that after completing all the formalities at the airport, the body was taken to Moulvibazar in Sylhet on a domestic flight. He will be buried in the family graveyard at his village home. Relatives said that Ahmed Ali had been living in Ajman city in the United Arab Emirates for a long time.
