Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer, Opposition Leader in Parliament Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has warned that no concessions will be made if the July Charter is not implemented. He gave this warning while talking to reporters after conducting a cleanliness drive in Mirpur in the capital on Wednesday (February 18) morning. The Jamaat Ameer said, “In the lead-up to the 2026 national elections, everyone will have to play a role in parliament to implement the spirit of the month of July. Jamaat will be vocal in implementing the aspirations of the uprising.”
\nHe also said that garbage at all levels of the country will be removed through state reforms. If it is clean, then the mind will be good. We took two oaths yesterday, Tuesday. Our oath is to work for the people of the country. The Jamaat Ameer wants to make Mirpur a model city. For this, he instructed the leaders and activists to start work by cleaning the area every morning.
\nIncidentally, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, the Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, which emerged as the main opposition party in the 13th National Parliament, has been elected the Leader of the Opposition. The decision was taken unanimously in a meeting of the parliamentary party held after the oath-taking of the members of parliament yesterday. Party sources said that the top leadership has been brought forward to play an effective and coordinated role in the parliament.
