Bangladesh ranks 13th among the most corrupt countries in the world. Bangladesh is in this position by getting 24 out of 100 out of 182 countries. Bangladesh ranks 150th in terms of ranking. In 2024, Bangladesh was ranked 14th in the list of most corrupt countries. However, this time Bangladesh has improved by 1 point compared to last year. However, it has fallen one step in the overall ranking.
\nTransparency International Bangladesh (TIB) released Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) or ‘Corruption Perceptions Index 2025’ at the Midas Center in Dhanmondi, the capital, on Tuesday (February 10) morning. TIB Executive Director Iftekharuzzaman presented this information.
\nAlthough Bangladesh’s score in the corruption index increased by 1 point, Iftekharuzzaman said about the one-step drop in the overall ranking, ‘The reason for Bangladesh’s 1 point increase is the positive assessment of the July mass uprising. But the general decline has been due to the weakness of the reform process, corruption at the ground level and other factors. The interim government has not set an example of transparency. We have missed a big opportunity.’
\nDenmark tops the list as the least corrupt country in 2025 in Transparency International’s 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index with a score of 89. Finland is second with a score of 88 and Singapore is third with a score of 84. On the other hand, South Sudan and Somalia are jointly at the top of the most corrupt list with a score of 9. Venezuela is second with a score of 10 and Yemen, Libya and Eritrea are jointly at the third lowest with a score of 13.
\nIn the 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index, among the eight countries in South Asia, Bhutan scores 71 on a scale of 100, followed by India and the Maldives at 39, Sri Lanka at 35, Nepal at 34, Pakistan at 28 and Afghanistan at 16. According to the CPI, the level of perceived corruption is determined on a scale from 0 (zero) to 100 (one hundred). According to this method, a score of 0 (zero) on the scale is considered the highest level of corruption and a score of 100 is considered the lowest level of corruption.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
