A plane crashed on a busy highway in the US state of Georgia during an emergency landing. The plane collided with several vehicles on the road. The accident occurred in the country on Monday (February 9) local time. According to an NDTV report citing US police, the pilot of the single-engine training plane was forced to make an emergency landing on the highway. This was because the plane did not have the ability to return to the airport.
\nA video of the plane crashing on the highway has already been widely shared on social media. It can be seen that the small plane is hitting several cars after the emergency landing on the busy road. Police said that several people were slightly injured in the accident. Local police said that after landing, the right wing of the plane hit a car. As a result, the plane’s fuel tank came loose and fell behind an SUV. The road has already been closed after the plane crash. Local residents have been warned of long traffic jams.
\nMeanwhile, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said the plane was en route from Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport in Gainesville, Georgia, to Cherokee County Regional Airport in Canton. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot experienced engine failure. He decided to return to Gainesville. However, the pilot did not have enough power to reach the airport and made an emergency landing on the road, where the plane struck three cars, the NTSB said.
