Popular actor Rajpal Yadav, whose presence on the Bollywood screen is a laughing stock, is now in jail. The comedian has finally had to go to jail due to a debt of Rs 9 crore. He is currently lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail on the orders of the Delhi High Court of India. According to an Indian media report, Rajpal had taken a loan of Rs 5 crore in 2010 to make his film ‘Aata Pata Lapata’. However, after a long time, he was unable to repay the amount, and his debt has now reached Rs 9 crore.
\nOn February 4, the Delhi High Court finally ordered Rajpal to surrender to pay this huge amount. However, instead of surrendering, Rajpal decided to continue the legal battle and prayed the court for some more time to repay the loan.
\nBut a bench of Justice Swarna Kant Sharma dismissed Rajpal’s plea. The court made it clear that there was no valid legal argument for an extension of time. After this strict stand of the court, the police arrested him and sent him to jail. It is worth mentioning that Rajpal Yadav has made a place in the hearts of the audience by acting in popular films like ‘Hungama’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’, ‘Chup Chup Ke’ and ‘Pher Heraferi’.
