An autorickshaw driver named Md. Shaheen (48) was killed in a hit by a speeding private car in the capital’s Khilgaon Meradia area. The road accident occurred at around 12:15 pm on Monday (February 3). According to eyewitnesses and police sources, Shaheen was driving an autorickshaw on the main road opposite Safia Car Center in Meradia. At that time, a speeding private car coming from behind hit the autorickshaw hard. He was seriously injured and died on the spot.
\nKhilgaon Police Station SI Anoy Chandra Pal confirmed the matter on Tuesday morning and said that autorickshaw driver Md. Shaheen died on the spot after being hit by a Meradia private car at around 12:15 pm yesterday. After completing the legal process, the body of the deceased has been sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. The private car involved in the incident has been seized and its driver is in police custody.
