A sustained shortage of high-grade material continued to provide strong underlying support to prices, even as overall buying activity remained measured.<\/p>\n<p>Sponge iron prices across major Indian markets moved higher by INR 300-900\/t. Trade activity improved, with total sponge iron transactions estimated at around 18,500 t.<\/p>\n<p>BigMints billet index registered a sharp increase of INR 1,150\/tonne (t) day-on-day (d-o-d), settling at INR 40,450\/t ex-works (exw)-Raipur.
