Citizens of 25 other countries, including Bangladesh, will have to deposit a bond of up to $15,000 before entering the United States. This information was announced on the US State Department website on Tuesday (January 6).
\nIn addition to Bangladesh, the State Department’s list includes two other South Asian countries, Nepal and Bhutan. It also includes several countries in Africa and Latin America.
\nThe US State Department said that passport holders of the listed countries can apply for entry to the United States if they are considered eligible for a ‘B-1’ or ‘B-2’ visa. However, in that case, the applicant will have to deposit a bond of $5,000, $10,000 or $15,000. The amount of this bond will be determined at the time of the visa interview.
