The government will buy a total of 135075000 liters of soybean oil from Thailand. Its price has been estimated at 178 crore 47 lakh taka. Each liter will cost 131.47 paisa.
\nToday, Tuesday (January 6), the meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Government Procurement chaired by Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed approved this proposal. It is learned that the government will buy soybean oil from Thailand’s Prime Crop World Company Limited, an internationally recommended company, through a direct purchase method based on the proposal of the Ministry of Commerce.
\nIn the meeting, the Advisory Council Committee approved separate proposals to import not only soybean oil but also lentils, fertilizer and fuel oil to meet the country’s urgent needs. Instructions have been given to start the process of bringing these products into the country quickly to keep the supply chain of the trade and agriculture sectors running. After the meeting, Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed said that transparency and speed in importing goods are being given top priority.
