West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee has expressed grief over the death of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. Mamata expressed grief in a post on social media X today (December 30). In a post written in Bengali and English, Mamata wrote, ‘I am saddened by the death of Begum Khaleda Zia, the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and one of the people’s leaders. My condolences to her bereaved family, friends and her political colleagues.’
\nEarlier, today (December 30) at around 6 am Bangladesh time, Khaleda Zia breathed her last while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital (Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un). She was 80 years old at the time of her death. Tomorrow, Wednesday, after Zohar, the funeral will be held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban ground and Manik Mia Avenue.
