Party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that the grief expressed over the death of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia is irreparable, the nation will never be able to fill it. He made the remarks in an emotional voice at a briefing at Evercare Hospital in the capital on Tuesday (December 30) morning. The BNP Secretary General said, “We never thought that we would have to stand before you with this news. We hoped that this time too she would recover as well as before.”
\nHe said, “We are burdened… You have already heard the announcement of the Chief Medical Board Professor Shahabuddin Talukder that the mother of our democracy, the guardian of our nation, left us at 6 am today. Inna lillahi wa illallahi raji’un. This grief, this loss… it is extraordinary, irreparable. This nation will never be able to fill it.”
\nMirza Fakhrul said, \u2018The leader Begum Khaleda Zia, who dedicated her entire life for the rights and welfare of the people, is no longer with us… We, her colleagues and political workers, cannot think of this. \nChief advisor\u2019s phone call
\nThe BNP Secretary General said, \u2018The chief advisor of the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, called us immediately. Begum Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital on November 23. On November 27, when her condition deteriorated, she was taken to the CCU.
