Education Advisor Professor C. R. Abrar has announced that the state will take responsibility for the maintenance of the children, wife and parents of Dipu Chandra Das, a factory worker who was beaten to death by a mob. On Tuesday (December 23) afternoon, the education advisor visited Dipu Chandra Das\u2019 house in Mokamiakanda village of Tarakanda upazila and inquired about the family members. At that time, Dipu Das\u2019 father Ravi Chandra Das expressed his helpless condition and demanded justice for his son\u2019s killers.
\nThe advisor said, \u2018I met the chief advisor before coming. He asked me to talk to the family. After talking to the family, the family\u2019s needs will be determined. We have a local administration, this communication will be made through them.\u2019 Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Reza Md. Golam Masum Pradhan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Abdullah Al Mamun, Tarakanda Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Aminul Islam, Assistant Commissioner (Land) SM Nazmus Salehin and others were present.
\nThe Office of the Chief Advisor has expressed deep shock over the death of factory worker Dipu Chandra Das (30) in a mob lynching in Bhaluka, Mymensingh on charges of insulting Islam and the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). At the same time, the interim government has expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased. The Chief Advisor’s Press Wing gave this information in a press release yesterday evening.
\nThe release said that the murder of Dipu Chandra Das is a heinous crime that has no logic or acceptability. Allegations, rumors or differences in belief – nothing can be an excuse for violence. No one has the right to take the law into their own hands. The interim government reiterated its commitment to the rule of law, saying that the state has the sole authority to investigate crimes and ensure justice and this must be done through due legal process.
\nThe notification also said that law enforcement agencies have arrested 12 people so far in this incident. The investigation process is ongoing and the concerned authorities have been directed to fully pursue the case without any deviation. The law against such violence will be strictly enforced.
\nThe notification said that the government is committed to ensuring the safety, dignity and equal protection of all citizens, stating that everyone, regardless of religion, caste or identity, will receive equal protection of the law. At the same time, it called on all communities, institutions and leaders to reject violence, resist attempts to create division and instability and maintain restraint, humanity and respect for the law.
\nThe Office of the Principal Advisor said that financial and welfare assistance will be provided to the family of Dipu Chandra Das and the concerned authorities will continue to communicate with them regularly in the coming days.
