Hinduist parties Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrangi Dal have protested again in front of the Bangladesh High Commission in the Indian capital New Delhi. After the protest began on Tuesday (December 23), more than a hundred people gathered in front of the High Commission. They tried to break the police barricade by shouting anti-Bangladesh slogans.
\nSecurity was tightened around the Bangladesh High Commission since morning in view of the protest program. When the protesters tried to break the police barricade and enter the High Commission, the police lathi-charged them.
\nAccording to Indian media reports, the entire area adjacent to the Bangladesh High Commission has been surrounded with three-tiered barricades. A large number of police and paramilitary forces have been deployed to ensure security. Protests have been going on in India for several days over allegations of atrocities on the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
