US President Donald Trump has expanded the scope of the travel ban to completely ban citizens of five more countries from entering the United States. Palestine has also been included in the list. This information was reported in a report by the British media BBC.
\nAccording to the report, the White House announced on Tuesday (December 16) that it would add five more countries to the travel ban list. The Trump administration has expanded the list mainly in view of its very strict stance against immigration.
\nIn addition to Palestine, the five new countries on the list are Syria, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger and South Sudan. Earlier, the Trump administration imposed travel bans on 12 countries last June. The countries are Iran, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
\nWashington has not yet recognized Palestine as a state. Therefore, the ‘State of Palestine’ is not directly mentioned in the travel ban list. The Trump administration is also reluctant to say “occupied Palestinian territory.” The document refers to Palestinians “who are attempting to travel with travel documents approved by the Palestinian Authority.” Two National Guard members were recently shot in Washington. One of them later died. Since then, the Trump administration has taken a tougher stance on immigration.
