A powerful 7.6-magnitude earthquake has struck northeastern Japan. The earthquake struck at 11:15 pm local time on Monday (December 8). The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) confirmed the information. The JMA said that an early warning has been issued for the earthquake. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the coastal area of \u200b\u200bAomori Prefecture. Its source was at a depth of 50 kilometers.
\nInitially, its magnitude was determined as 7.6. However, its intensity was above 6 on the Japanese Earthquake Intensity Scale, where the highest scale is 7. Immediately after this powerful earthquake, a tsunami warning was issued for the Pacific coast of Hokkaido, Aomori and Iwate Prefectures in Japan.
