BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia will be taken to London between midnight today (December 4) or early tomorrow (December 5). Her personal physician and party standing committee member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain gave this information.
\nAt a briefing in front of the gate of Evercare Hospital in the capital this afternoon, he said that Khaleda Zia will go to London in an air ambulance from Qatar. In the meantime, the air ambulance has left for Bangladesh from Qatar.
\nDr. Zahid Hossain said, “We are optimistic as Khaleda Zia’s physical condition has improved. We expect that she will return home healthy. A team of specialist doctors will be with her to ensure round-the-clock medical support during the journey.”
\nIn the meantime, two teams of specialist doctors from China and the UK have arrived in Dhaka and are monitoring her condition at Evercare Hospital. The second team of Chinese doctors arrived at the hospital on Wednesday night (December 3). The four-member expert team held discussions with the medical board that night.
\nChief Advisor Dr Muhammad Yunus went to Evercare Hospital yesterday evening to inquire about Khaleda Zia’s health. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir welcomed her at the hospital. Khaleda Zia’s personal physician Professor AZM Zahid Hossain was with her at the time.
\nThe BNP Chairperson had been undergoing treatment at the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of Evercare Hospital for a week. She went to the hospital for a health check-up on November 23. After a preliminary check-up that night, she was admitted on the advice of the medical board formed for her treatment. She has been undergoing treatment there since then. When her condition became critical on November 27, the medical board is treating her in the CCU. At the same time, she is undergoing treatment under the supervision of local and foreign doctors.
\nKhaleda Zia had earlier gone to London in January for advanced treatment. There, he first received treatment at a hospital and later at his son Tarique Rahman’s house. After staying in London for about four months, he returned home on May 6.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
