Two light aircraft collided in mid-air near Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, Australia. One aircraft crashed and a pilot died. According to ABC News, the cause of the accident, which occurred on Sunday morning (November 30), is not yet known.
\nState police said that rescuers have found the body of the pilot of the crashed aircraft in bushland near Wedderburn Airport, southwest of Sydney. Police said that they were told that two small aircraft collided in mid-air. Then one of the aircraft crashed into nearby bushland.
\nOn the other hand, the Australian Associated Press reported that the body of a pilot was found at the scene of the accident. The other aircraft was able to land safely in the incident. The pilot of that aircraft was not injured.
\nAustralian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) investigators will collect evidence from the scene of the accident and investigate the cause of the collision. “One of the aircraft involved in the collision landed safely,” the ATSB said in a statement. “However, the other crashed into the ground and its pilot was killed.” The ATSB is urging the public to avoid the area while the incident is investigated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
