Iranian President Masoud Pjeshkian reaffirmed in a meeting with the new Austrian ambassador to Tehran, Friedrich Stift. Mehr News Agency reported that Pjeshkian welcomed the ambassador and referred to the positive and historical relations between Tehran and Vienna. He said, \u201cThe relations between the two countries have always been friendly, constructive and based on mutual respect. The Islamic Republic seeks to deepen and expand these relations in all areas.\u201d
\nThe president added, \u201cConnections and cooperation with all countries on the basis of friendship, peace and common interests are the core of Iran\u2019s diplomatic policy. Since the first days of the government, some individuals have tried to disrupt Iran\u2019s peaceful international relations through false accusations and propaganda to cast doubt on the country\u2019s nuclear activities.\u201d
\nHe stressed, \u201cThe Islamic Republic has never sought to develop nuclear weapons.
