BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has claimed that Awami League is buying cocktails and waging sabotage with money looted from various banks. He also commented that if Sheikh Hasina is punished for crimes against humanity, it will set an example.
\nHe said these things at a press conference at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan in the capital on Monday (November 17). The BNP Senior Joint Secretary General said, ‘We want a peaceful Bangladesh, where people of all ideologies can express their opinions beautifully and voting will be peaceful, transparent and inclusive.’ Stating that the previous fascist government controlled the media and carried out propaganda, Rizvi said, ‘There will be no dictated courts like during Sheikh Hasina’s era, this is the people’s belief. The people want fair trial. The people are watching and will witness that fair trial.’
\nHe said, ‘How brutally the law enforcement agencies of this country killed Abu Sayeed, Mughd, Wasim Akram.’ We still remember the horror they showed by killing children indiscriminately and brutally.’ The BNP leader further said, ‘Those who committed crimes in the past fascist era; have given orders – they are shamelessly setting buses on fire. Cocktails are being bought with money looted from various banks. The money for sabotage is coming from money embezzled from the Padma Bridge and Metrorail.’
\nClaiming that cocktails are being bought with money looted from various banks, Rizvi said, ‘During the fascist era, various propaganda was carried out against leaders and activists who were agitating for democracy by controlling the media. Even then, we have repeatedly said that this fire has nothing to do with people who love democracy and BNP leaders and activists. We have also given clear evidence that those who love democracy and love BNP have nothing to do with the fire. The examples of those who commit arson and terrorism are now visible.
\nCommenting that Sheikh Hasina’s order while sitting in India is not legal, he said, “Why is India allowing this to happen? India is violating the law by sheltering criminals and giving Bangladesh an opportunity to sabotage. The people of Bangladesh are not looking at it well; such behavior is not desirable.” Regarding the celebration of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman’s birthday on Thursday, November 20, Rizvi said that no order has been given to hold any other event, starting from cutting the cake, on the occasion of Tarique Rahman’s birthday like last year. If anyone is thinking of organizing any event, they will have to donate money.
