\nTensions between the two countries have increased after the recent deployment of US warships off the coast of Venezuela and US attacks on ships in the region. Meanwhile, the Venezuelan government said on Tuesday that it has put its armed forces ready to repel any US aggression.
\nThe preparations mentioned in the Venezuelan government statement include the deployment of large troops and missile-handling forces on land, air and sea. In addition, a force consisting of police, militia and civilians will also be deployed. Tensions are rising over the entry of the US aircraft carrier Gerald Ford into the Latin American region.
