US President Donald Trump has called for a full pardon for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He made the call in a letter to Israeli President Isaac Herzog, referring to Netanyahu’s ongoing corruption case. This information was reported by the British news agency Reuters.
\nTrump said that the corruption cases that have been going on for five years are “politically motivated and unjustified”. He said that he “fully respects” the independence of the Israeli judiciary, but he believes that the cases against Netanyahu are “politically motivated and unjustified”.
\nNetanyahu has been on trial for the past five years in three cases of bribery, fraud and breach of trust. Although he has denied all the charges.
