The verdict in the case of crimes against humanity committed during the July-August movement will be announced next Monday (November 17).
\nToday, Thursday (November 13), at 12:09 pm, a three-member judicial panel led by Tribunal-1 Chairman Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder set the date for the verdict. The remaining members of the tribunal are Justice Md. Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Justice Md. Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury. Apart from Sheikh Hasina, the other accused in this crime against humanity case are former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun.
\nChowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun has given his statement as a witness in this case. Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan are absconding and Chowdhury Mamun is in jail. Earlier, on October 23, the three-member International Crimes Tribunal-1 had set the date for the verdict today after the trial of the case. The tribunal had said that the verdict date would be announced soon.
\nMeanwhile, after the Supreme Court sent a letter to the Army Headquarters regarding the announcement of the verdict date in Sheikh Hasina’s case, the army has been deployed in the Supreme Court and Tribunal areas.
