After being treated at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery for about three and a half months, 10-year-old twins Sarina Jahan Saira and Saiba Jahan Saima, who were injured in the Milestone School and College training plane crash, have returned home.
\nAlong with this, 33 people who were burned in the plane crash have returned home after receiving treatment. This Wednesday (November 12) morning, doctors, nurses and staff of the hospital bid farewell to the two children at the office of the director of the institute.
\nAt the time, Mohammad Nasir Uddin, director of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, said, “57 people injured in the Milestone School plane crash received treatment from this institute. 20 of them died while undergoing treatment. One has been sent to a mental hospital for trauma management. Three are still undergoing treatment, but they are all out of danger.”
\nOf the two twins, Saira was admitted to the hospital with 30 percent burns and Saima with 15 percent burns. Director Mohammad Nasir Uddin said, \u2018Our doctors, nurses and other staff have provided sincere care to every burn patient. They have worked hard. We have also been given maximum support from the government.
\nHe added, \u2018The hospital authorities are in regular contact with the injured who have returned home and are providing follow-up treatment,\u2019. At the same time, he also thanked foreign doctors from Singapore, India, China and the UK who have helped in treating the injured.
\nThe parents of the twins, Yasin Majumdar and Aklima Akhter, expressed gratitude for the sincerity of the hospital authorities and the cooperation of the interim government. On July 21, a training fighter jet of the Air Force crashed into a two-story building of Milestone School and College. A total of 36 people were killed and 124 injured in the incident.
