The Navy has rescued 13 fishermen and a trawler stranded in the Bay of Bengal off the coast of Cox’s Bazar. The Navy has given this information in a press release sent to the media on Sunday (November 9) morning. The release said that on Saturday (November 8) afternoon, the Navy ship ‘Banouja Shahid Mohibullah’ while patrolling the Bay of Bengal rescued a fishing trawler with fishermen.
\nIt is learned that a fishing trawler was floating in the deep sea due to engine failure about 20 miles away from the lighthouse of Kutubdia Island. The fishermen on the trawler saw the Navy ship and showed signals with lights and hands to attract the ship’s attention. The Navy ship ‘Banouja Shahid Mohibullah’ patrolling the sea noticed the signal and rushed to the fishermen and the trawler in distress. Navy members went to the spot and rescued the fishermen along with the trawler. Immediately after the rescue, the fishermen were provided with first aid and necessary medicines, food and clean water. The rescued fishermen and the fishing trawler were brought safely to the shore. Later, all of them were handed over to their families and owners.
