Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, has said that the UN must continuously evolve and move with the times to fulfill the collective aspirations for peace and multilateralism. He said this in a message issued on the occasion of United Nations Day today, Saturday (October 24).
\nThe Chief Advisor said that if the UN wants to fulfill the aspirations of all of us for peace and multilateralism, it must adapt to the changing world reality. We are in favor of reforming the UN so that it is more dynamic, integrated and able to meet the expectations of all in the changing world situation.
\nHe also said that on this important day, we pledge that Bangladesh will continue to fulfill its responsibilities to build a peaceful and stable world as envisioned in the UN Charter.
\nThe Chief Advisor said that since Bangladesh became a member of the UN in 1974, Bangladesh has established itself as an active, responsible and contributing member state.
\nNoting that the recent conflicts have plunged the world into deep uncertainty, the Chief Adviser said, “We must acknowledge that multilateral diplomacy is now facing a severe test. Extreme nationalism and indifference to human suffering are destroying the progress achieved in the long struggle of mankind.” Professor Yunus also extended greetings on behalf of the people of Bangladesh to the UN Member States, all UN partners and all concerned parties on United Nations Day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
