The interim government has taken the initiative to formulate a new national salary structure for government officials and employees. Now it has been learned that proposals are also being made regarding the salaries of private sector employees in the salary scale of this Pay Commission.
\nToday, Thursday (October 23), the Secretary General of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), an important business organization, confirmed the matter to a media outlet in the country. Md. Alamgir, he believes that the FBCCI is now preparing a proposal to submit to the Pay Commission. Which will be submitted to the commission in a very short time. Overall, the minimum salary should be 25-30 thousand.
\nIn a recent information statement, the government said that the work of the Pay Commission, formed to formulate recommendations for a fair and effective new salary structure for officials and employees of government and autonomous institutions, is progressing. The public opinions and recommendations received in four online questionnaires are already being scrutinized and reviewed. The Pay Commission report will be submitted within a specified time. It is learnt that the new salary structure is recommending doubling the salaries of government employees.
\nStating that the benefits of the private sector depend on the employer-employee relationship, the FBCCI Secretary General said that many sectors have now come under a common guideline, they have a specific structure. In terms of salary, a person should be given what is needed for the minimum living expenses including four family members.
\nThis is for a humane lifestyle. It is not that one can live a luxurious life. The FBCCI Secretary General said, we want to see the human dignity of the citizen without looking at the government-private sector.
