A young man named Sagar Molla (24) was killed in a truck runover by a thief in Ujirpur, Barisal. Two others were injured in the incident. The incident took place on Tuesday (October 7) at 2:30 am on the road in front of Bepari Bari in the upazila’s Notun Shikarpur area.
\nThe deceased Sagar Molla is the son of Mohammad Jahangir Molla of Sakral village in Ujirpur.
\nLocals said that the thieves tried to escape in a truck after stealing cows and calves from Anis Hawlader of Sakral village. On learning about the matter, the villagers stopped the thieves on the highway. At that time, the truck driver drove at high speed and ran over three people including Sagar Molla.
\nSagar Molla was killed on the spot and Naeem Hawlader and Kausar Hawlader were seriously injured. They were rescued and admitted to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barisal. The police have sent Sagar Molla’s body to the morgue for autopsy. Confirming the matter, Uzirpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md.
