BNP is being linked to extortion all over the country. However, the interim government is creating a negative image of BNP among the people by not taking action against the extortionists. BNP’s co-international affairs secretary Rumin Farhana called it a government tactic. She made this comment while appearing on a talk show recently.
\nRegarding extortion, Rumin Farhana said, ‘Look, 7,500 of our leaders and activists have been expelled. Our esteemed acting chairman has made it clear today. Not all of them have been expelled for extortion. There have also been incidents of violating party discipline at times.’
\n‘There have also been incidents of not following party instructions, etc. Some people have also been dismissed or expelled from their posts. At the same time, what we have been saying for a long time is that there is a government in Bangladesh, there are laws in Bangladesh, according to the existing law, all these are criminal offenses.’ So, a criminal who is guilty of a criminal offence, BNP has never told the government that if someone from my party is a criminal, then you will not enforce the law there, if someone from my party is a criminal, then you will not be able to arrest him, you will not be able to file an FIR against him, it has not been said anywhere.
\nRumin further said, \u2018It is the responsibility of the government to control any crime in the country.\u2019
\nHe said, \u2018If BNP is in power and BNP behaves indifferently when its leaders and activists commit crimes, if the police or law enforcement agencies take any action against BNP leaders and activists, if BNP stops them, then you can say that BNP is condoning such crimes by BNP leaders and activists. But that situation has not been created yet.\u2019
\nBNP leaders and activists are accused of being involved in extortion across the country, which the party is unable to control. However, according to Rumin, its failure is mainly due to the interim government.
\nRumin said that the government is deliberately not taking action against extortionists in that way. The government wants them to pile up a mountain of allegations against BNP.
\nRumin said, “The concept of politics is very important in politics. The government wants BNP to extort money and this concept should be everywhere. That is why the government is not taking any immediate action against the extortionists.”
\nMentioning that BNP is also being defamed through bot forces on social media, Rumin said, “Hundreds of bot IDs. If a worker has thousands of bot IDs, then they will campaign for his party and defam leaders and workers of other parties. BNP cannot do this. Now we cannot open bot IDs and campaign. If this is our failure, then it will be our failure.”
\nStating that BNP will adopt a zero tolerance policy against this crime if it comes to power, Rumin said, “I can say from the Brahmanbaria meeting that Tarique Rahman held a workers’ meeting in our area many months ago. He said that if we can form the government, if there is any such allegation against our leaders and workers, then we ourselves will take legal action against him. “We will definitely be expelled from the party and we ourselves will take legal action.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
